Hotto & Downs star nominated for major Namibian award

Orlando Pirates defender Deon Hotto and Mamelodi Sundowns striker Peter Shalulile have been nominated for a major award in Namibia. Hotto has been a model of consistency for the Buccaneers over recent seasons and continues to shine, having already helped the team lift the MTN8 trophy this campaign. His performances have earned him a nomination for the 2025 Namibia Annual Sports Awards in the category of Professional Athlete of the Year. Hotto will face stiff competition from Premier Soccer League's all-time top goal scorer, Shalulile, who continues to impress for Sundowns year after year. Shasha, as Shalulile is fondly known, is chasing a record fourth Professional Athlete of the Year title, having previously won the award three times before Hotto claimed it last year.
