Orlando Pirates midfielder Sihle Nduli is a doubt for Saturday's (8 November) Carling Knockout semifinal match against Richards Bay FC. The club confirmed this in its preview of the game on Friday, citing the injury Nduli sustained in their mid-week Betway Premiership match against Lamontville Golden Arrows. The highly anticipated semifinal will be played at the Moses Mabhida Stadium, with kick-off slated for 15:00. The Buccaneers will aim to get through to their first League Cup final since 2018. They last won the competition in 2011 when it was known as Telkom Knockout. Lifting the trophy would earn them a cup double, as they already won this season's MTN8. Standing in their way for now is Richards Bay, who also eliminated them from the competition in 2023 on penalties. Having exacted revenge on last season winners Magesi who similarly knocked them out, Pirates will look to mete out the same treatment on the Natal Rich Boys. The home side have not yet reached a cup final so far but have played in the semifinals on two occasions, with their losses coming at the hands of eventual champions. The Soweto giants go into the match with four wins and one draw in their last five matches, while Richards Bay are unbeaten in their last three matches in all competitions. Head-to-head, the two clubs have one win each against the other in cup competition - a win for Richards Bay in the Carling Knockout in 2023 and one for Pirates in the Nedbank Cup in January this year. In the Premier Soccer League, however, the Bucs have a clear advantage with three wins against the Rich Boys' one, with the spoils shared on one occasion. Tickets were still available at the time of publishing via Open Tickets here, priced at R80 each. They are also available at Open Tickets outlets across South Africa. PRASA has announced that it will run an additional train service for fans. Fans who won't make it to the stadium can watch the game live on the following TV and online platforms:
