Maluleka joined the NFD outfit after parting ways with Betway Premiership side AmaZulu FC, where he had played following his departure from Sundowns.
The midfield maestro spent almost seven years with Chiefs before his controversial move to Sundowns in 2020, a decision that angered many Amakhosi supporters, as it came while the team was in the thick of a title race.
Throughout his decorated career in the South African top flight, he has also turned out for SuperSport United and Ajax Cape Town, having made his professional breakthrough with University of Pretoria in 2006.
After nearly two decades in the game, Maluleka appears ready to call time on his playing career as he prepares to transition into coaching.
"I know I haven't announced it yet, but I think I'm retiring," Maluleke said on Radio 2000's Game On.
"I'm moving to the next chapter. I had a good season at Kruger United.
