Highbury coach Kabelo Sibiya has spent no time celebrating the team's 1-0 victory over Casric Stars, immediately shifting his focus to the upcoming back-to-back away battles in the Motsepe Foundation Championship. The Yellow Nation will hit the road this week to face Hungry Lions on Wednesday and then gear up for another away clash against Upington City on Saturday. Highbury bounced back from their 2-1 defeat against Leicesterford City in their previous league fixture to beat Stars 1-0 at the Gelvandale Stadium on Friday. The win has moved the Gqeberha side back into third place on the MFC log after dropping to fourth place after their previous loss. Highbury are on 15 points from eight matches with four wins, three draws and only one defeat. They are two points behind Casric Stars in second and four back from Milford at the top. Sibiya knows how important success is this week. "We are looking forward to the next two matches," he said. "We have a match on Wednesday away against Hungry Lions and Saturday we are playing away again against Upington," Sibiya said. "Those are the two matches which will complete our circle of five matches. "Like I said before, our plan is to get 10 points in these five matches or above to show we are a team who are challenging for the championship. "We played well against Casric Stars. We started the game on the front foot. "I want to believe that the loss against Leicesterford helped to correct a lot of things. "The intensity was poor in our last match, but this time around we corrected it. "We played like the Highbury we all know. Everyone could see from the beginning of the match that we would win. We dominated the second part of the match. "We created chances. We could have gone to halftime leading 2-0. We missed some dangerous chances, but we never gave up. "We encouraged the guys to keep on trying and keep on pushing." Sibiya said he was happy that his players had been able to quickly bounce back from their previous defeat. He also applauded his players for pulling off a top performance against Casric Stars on Friday. "The performance was also top-notch. It's a performance which encourages us that we can push this season. "We do not want to get ahead of ourselves. "We need to remain humble and continue to work hard, doing things which make this team play dominantly, press correctly and keep the ball, which we did on Friday. "I am very happy for the players again. I also say we have recruited very good players, players with good personalities. "We have seen the evidence of that in the matches we have won this season. "We have won against Baroka, Casric Stars, and we have won away against Black Leopards. "Those are teams that everyone knows, which challenge for the championship every season. "Credit to the technical team for planning for this match; everyone did their part. "We also want to thank the management of the club for the support they gave us during our preparation for this game."
