HARARE - Former Zimbabwe Warriors captain Willard Katsande has taken to his official Facebook page to urge the Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) to appoint renowned coach Pitso Mosimane, emphasising that the South African tactician "loves Zimbabwean players." Mosimane, who is currently unattached, has been out of management since leaving his most recent post. Katsande, the former Kaizer Chiefs and Warriors midfielder, believes Mosimane is the ideal candidate to succeed the recently sacked Michael Nees. "ZIFA, what are we waiting for? This man (Pitso) loves Zimbabwean players with all his heart," wrote Katsande, captioning a photo of Mosimane. Besides Katsande, former CAPS United winger Alois Bunjira also backed Mosimane last week to take over from Nees and guide the Warriors to the AFCON finals. The Warriors' head coaching position remains vacant after ZIFA announced Nees' departure. On Monday, the association flighted an advert inviting qualified candidates to apply for the national team job. Time, however, is not on ZIFA's side, with upcoming international friendly matches against Algeria and Qatar, as well as preparations for the AFCON finals in Morocco, fast approaching. Zimbabwe are expected to play Algeria and Qatar during the next international break, which begins early next month. By then, ZIFA is expected to have appointed and unveiled a new head coach.
