About Hungry Lions
Hungry Lions Football Club are a South African football club from the small Northern Cape mining town of Postmasburg who compete in the Motsepe Foundation Championship. The club climbed from local football to the professional game entirely on its own, without buying a status.

Club history
- 1980s - founded by Stefaans Basie, initially playing friendlies and one-off tournaments rather than league football.
- 2000 - entered competitive league football and began working up through the local leagues and the SAB League.
- 2004 - promoted to the SAFA Second Division.
- 2020/21 - won the SAFA Second Division to earn promotion to the National First Division.
